A Place Face is a portrait of a place with its people.
These unique portraits can be a town center, an event, a homestead, a landscape, or whatever you dream up. Usually commissioned work, a Place Face takes on the tone and life of the ones who inhabit a location, and it emotes what the client wants to visually communicate about the place. La Ticla, Micoacan, Mexico
Original, 12″x18″, pen and brush on paper.
This lovely place at a river mouth includes many birds, roaming pigs, donkeys, a pearl fisherman and a few surfers. It begs for color
60 years of Shakespeare in Ashland, Oregon
Original, hand painted lithograph limited edition print, 18″ x 24″, scanned and Photoshop enhanced and further painted. I did this while pregnant with Jake (now 26 and still an inspiration to me), 6 days of walking, talking and drawing with the people of the place.
The Plaza in Arcata, California, 1981
Original 24″x 24″, pen and ink, created in collaboration with the people of the place in 1981, and made into a signed, limited edition of 290- 18 x 18″ prints, of which only about 50 are left. The artwork is in the process of being re-purposed by the current people of the place.
Running Y, Klamath Falls, Oregon
“Running Y” ~original 20″x 28″, pen & brush ink on paper collage. One of the 1000-print limited edition was hand painted, scanned, and re-painted and assembled in Photoshop. Three years later additions and changes were made to reflect reality.
The black and white 11″x 17″ version was for a free handout for Lodge guests to visually orient them to the 6,000 acres surrounding them.
“Oregon Country Fair- 1981,” ~Original 20″x 28″, pen and ink on paper, literally cut and pasted together. One 18″x 24″ print was scanned and re-assembled and painted in Photoshop.

Remember Bernie I have the one you did of Richardson Springs at kids camp in California. It has blessed me greatly over the years since and is still hanging in my hallway.
